Ineke Calis (The Netherlands)

In the course of her life, Ineke Calis' work has acquired an increasingly penetrating character. Her main source of inspiration was the port of Rotterdam, because of the enormous power it exudes. At that location she found a multitude of shapes in mainly hard materials such as steel and iron. She herself said about it: "I never portray people, I always opt for the technical representations, for things made by people. If the viewer notices the tension in such a screen print, then I have succeeded!"
