Hong Hao (Beijing, 1965)

Hong Hao's silkscreens are a testament to great craftsmanship. All his works resemble a classically bound Chinese book. Hong Hao is inspired by traditional China, the cultural revolution and chaotic modernization. Hong Hao often uses humor in his commentary on society. In the "world map series" he creates completely new world maps. Its redesign takes place on the basis of new economic, political or strategic spheres of influence.

In 1989, Hong Hao graduated from the graphics department of Beijing Central Academy of Art. His silkscreens have been shown at many foreign exhibitions, including in Sydney, Gothenburg, Munich and Tokyo.
