Le Thiet Cuong (Hanoi, 1962)

Tranquility, quiet and emptiness characterise the work of Le Thiet Cuong. Uncertainty as to the future is a key theme in his work. With a minimum of lines the artist captures Vietnamese tradition and the simple, everyday things which dictate the Vietnamese identity.
The uncertain existence in a rapidly changing society is one of the main themes of his work. Cuong paints with gouache on cheesecloth. The cheesecloth is glued to a paper background.

Cuong graduated from the cartoon department of the Vietnamese Film Academy. In 1987 Cuong had his first solo exhibition in Hanoi. With the exhibition "The Quiet Path" in 1995, he had his first major solo exhibition in Hong Kong and Singapore.
