Paula Mazry (Santiago de Chile, 1972)
Paula Mazry's metal etchings are always different. She does not make identical prints from the same plate. By alternately coloring surfaces, completely different images are created. After the print, Mazry retouches the works with watercolor. In this way she creates landscapes in which, for the good viewer, many different things take place. The landscapes are often based on the Atacama desert in the North of Chile, where she stays three months a year with her boyfriend Jorge Lankin.
Mazry studied at the Catholic University of Chile, where she specialized in graphic techniques. She regularly exhibits in South America, Europe and Japan.
