Pablo Zicarello (Argentina, 1972)
Zicarello's photo series 'Luces' consists of complex, multiple-exposed photos of the lights of Buenos Aires at night. The artist calls it "remnants of light" from a night walk that are captured on one plate. Not long ago, the city was famous for its 24-hour nightlife. The city that never ended. The recent crisis in Argentina has changed that. Now nobody has the money to go out well. Even the most famous streets are deserted at night. A new sense of insecurity and unsafeness creeps over the night owl. But the lights are still there, in all their splendor and brilliance.
