Luz Maria Bedoya (Peru, 1969)
Luz Maria Bedoya's photography series 'Punto Ciego' shows fragments of the Pan-American highway through the coastal region of Peru. Along the highway, the eye follows a void for 2600 km. The photographed objects emphasize the spaciousness of the desert. According to the artist, time does not exist in the desert, unless it is the same time all the time. Time has become eternity there. There is nothing except space.
Besides a university study in Lima (Linguistics and Literature 1992), Luz Maria Bedoya has studied photography at several institutes in Lima and Boston.
