Ma Hui (He Bei, China, 1958)

"A lone red dot, symbolizing the celestial powers of the sun, emerges in an intriguing way, highlighting the white space in conjunction with a few fragile but purposefully drawn thin black lines." De Volkskrant wrote this about the work of the Chinese artist Ma Hui.

After wandering around for a long time, Ma Hui fled China in 1987 and has lived in Amsterdam ever since.
In the Netherlands she learned to combine Western printing methods with traditional Chinese techniques.
