Mariana Chiesa (La Plata, Argentina, 1967)
Love is the central theme in the work of the graphic artist / painter Mariana Chiesa. Her linocuts are often multicolored prints, which are characterized by round lines and a lot of movement, as is also the case with the shown print "Anatomy of a Marital Idyll". Her subjects are varied: from biblical stories and Native American legends to the realm of nightlife and physical love.
Mariana Chiesa has done the graphics department at the University of La Plata. Afterwards she moved to Buenos Aires where she had many exhibitions. The artist currently lives and works in Barcelona, where she had her first exhibition in May 1997.
