Fang Nan

Fang Nan was born in 1982 in China. At first glance Fang Nan's paintings depict attractive, glamorous landscapes. His painting 'Fish coming' shows an idyllic sunset seascape with men quietly fishing, unaware of the immanent threat of dozens of shark fins heading towards them. The artist shows us, in his simultaneously realistic and absurd paintings, the contrasts and tensions of realities that do exist at the same time.
